A unique opportunity exists right now to travel back across the Pacific with Woodwardia. The catamaran is currently located in Langkawi, Malaysia, and will be back on the BC coast in the spring 2016.
Before then, crew interested in helping save the planet while having a world class adventure, are invited to apply to get on board at various points—Singapore, Borneo, Palau, Fiji, New Zealand and Hawaii on the final leg of the journey up the coast of North America to Alaska before heading back down to Texada Island.
During the trip land and marine conservation projects will be conducted, reaching areas of the Pacific little researched and isolated. Non-profit science organizations will be contacted to see what information they would find valuable to further the education of their local population, with an eye to educating the world.
Woodwardia is 55 feet long with two refrigerators, one freezer, a large saloon and galley. A dive tank compressor with snorkelling and scuba diving gear is available as is an underwater video submarine for filming to a depth of 250 feet. Kayaks, surfboards and a large tender allow for access up rivers and estuaries for detailed surveys of the intertidal zone.
